About Us

Hello! I'm Sarah and my husband is Greg. We both grew up in the Berkshires, specifically in Williamstown, where we even attended elementary and high school together. While you might expect us to have teaching backgrounds, we actually come from different fields—my background is in interior design and architecture, and Greg’s is in real estate - we both have the entrepreneur bug, mainly for the reason to be in control of our time. Together, we've created an event venue, Bloom Meadows, in Hancock, where we live and raise our family on the property, and host events on the weekends.

We’re proud parents of two incredible girls—our smart and witty almost 5-year-old, Charlie, and our spirited 3-year-old, Hattie. Our journey to find the right educational path for them has been quite an adventure, driven by our desire to stay true to our family values and provide our daughters with a meaningful and personal educational experience. Unfortunately, we found that the options in our area didn’t align with the vision we had  hoped for.

This realization led us to embark on a huge new adventure: Jericho Valley co-op. Honestly, if you had told my younger self that we would be creating a homeschool co-op, I would have laughed so hard! But here we are! :) As I delved deeper into the traditional schooling systems, I became increasingly passionate about creating something different, something to support other homeschooling families. What we wanted for our girls seemed to have faded away over the years, and it became clear that it was our responsibility to build something that reflects our values—not just for our children, but for other like-minded families in our community.

We envision an environment that prioritizes critical thinking, hands-on learning, practical life skills, and the freedom to explore the outdoors and engage in free play. Living and working on our property at Bloom Meadows allows us to be fully present with our children and raise them according to the values we cherish, which are the values we are building Jericho Valley upon:

  • Living in alignment—ensuring actions, thoughts, and values are in sync.

  • Responsibility—being accountable for our actions and understanding their impact on others.

  • Perseverance—sticking to goals and overcoming obstacles, fostering resilience and determination.

  • Patience—waiting calmly through delays and frustrations, aiding in conflict resolution.

  • Humility—recognizing strengths and weaknesses, and being open to learning from others.

  • Honesty—being true to ourselves and others, encouraging trust and open communication.

  • Respect—valuing others’ opinions and spaces, even in disagreement.

  • Fostering critical thinking—knowing when to question the status quo.

  • Self-discipline—controlling impulses and making thoughtful choices, helping to set boundaries and achieve long-term goals.

While we wholeheartedly believe in nurturing creativity and outdoor exploration, we also recognize the importance of structured learning. Although we’re not dismissing traditional schooling for the future of our girls when they are older, we feel that current school systems often miss the mark by focusing too heavily on standardized testing rather than the comprehensive growth of each child.

Our hope is that Jericho Valley serves as a bridge between traditional schooling and homeschooling—a welcoming space where children and like-minded families can thrive socially and academically without the pressures of a conventional classroom.

Where freedom & structure intertwine,
critical thinking thrives,
and outdoor exploration inspires!
